Embracer Group To Buy Asmodee For 2.75 Billion Euros

Embracer Group, the parent company of THQ Nordic, is set to buy up Asmodee for 2.75 Billion Euros. If the sale goes through, it would set the Embracer Group as the major player in gaming in Europe.

The Embracer group already owns companies such as THQ Nordic, Saber Interactive, and Koch Media, as well as many smaller game studios which include franchises like Darksiders, Destroy All Humans, and Dead Island.

Asmodee itself is a rather large umbrella of tabletop gaming studios such as Days of Wonder,  Fantasy Flight Games, Z-Man Studios, and CATAN Studios and has game franchises such as Pandemic, CATAN, Arkham Horror, Ticket to Ride, and Marvel Champions: The Card Game.

The buyout can be lead to big changes in gaming both tabletop and digital as both companies already have such a plethora of games and rights, which can lead to adaptation in both directions, new digital games based on board games, and new board games based on video game franchise. We can not wait to see and will be following the news as more comes out.
