]]>Pokemon battles have always been a major part of the series, with world championship games bringing players around the world together to see who really is the very best (like no one ever was). The newly-announced Pokemon Champions is built for battling, giving players the ability to connect and battle with other players in a new way.
Pokemon Champions is Pokemon Home compatible, allowing players to use Pokemon they’ve raised and trained in previous games. The game is also available on both mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.
Most notably, the trailer demonstrated both Mega Evolution and Terrestalization, indicating that special mechanics from multiple generations of games will be an option.
While Pokemon Legends: Z-A was announced in a previous Pokemon Presents, the new Pokemon Presents gave us more information on the upcoming game.
Set in Lumiose City during its urban redevelopment, Legends: Z-A has the players explore Wild Zones and the city to meet and train Pokemon. Players will stay at Hotel Z as their base of operations, run by a man named AZ and his partner, an unusual Floette. Players of Pokemon X and Y versions will recognize AZ and his Floette, as well as their tragic backstory of loss and destruction.
Players get their choice of starter Pokemon from Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Legends Z-A also brings back Mega Evolution, a power-up for certain Pokemon that was a unique battle mechanic in the sixth generation of games.

Most notably, Pokemon Legends: Z-A switches battles from turn-based to real-time. Trainers and their Pokemon move around during the battle, making timing and positioning key for landing hits and swapping out Pokemon
While Pokemon Champions and Legends: Z-A were the big announcements, they weren’t the only ones. Pokemon Presents also included:

When “Pokemon X and Y” versions were released, it was a common assumption that its inevitable third game would be “Pokemon Z.” However, that game never came to be… until now.
Following up on the success of “Pokemon Legends: Arceus,” The Pokemon Company announced the release of “Pokemon Legends: Z-A.” This game is set in the Kalos region (from the 6th generation games), with a trailer showcasing the development of Lumiose City. While details are scarce, the Mega Evolution symbol appearing at the end of the trailer indicates that the popular battle mechanic will be returning, while the title and color pattern on the Z indicate that the legendary Pokemon Zygarde will play a role.
“Pokemon Legends: Z-A” will be released worldwide in 2025.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) has been a major part of the franchise since its early days. While the game does see online play, it’s now getting a new mobile release with “Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket.”
This new mobile game allows players to open packs, collect and trade cards, and play against their friends remotely. It also features immersive art for many of the cards, giving players a closer look at the artwork. The video announced that players will get two free packs per day (although it’s a safe assumption that players can buy more via microtransactions).
“Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket” releases later this year.
While those two games were the biggest announcements, they weren’t the only ones. Other Pokemon Day announcements include:

With all these announcements, Pokemon players will have plenty to look forward to, whether they enjoy the video games on the Nintendo Switch, mobile games, or card games. You can catch the whole presentation below and see what Pokemon has in store:
