When Sam Wilson, formerly known as Falcon, (played by Anthony Mackie) took up the shield and embraced his role as the next Captain America at the end of “Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” it was only a matter of time until he had his own movie.
Now, we’re getting our first look at the new “Captain America: Brave New World” with a teaser trailer and poster from Marvel Studios.
This trailer gives us about a minute and a half of footage, showing Sam both clashing and working with the now-President “Thunderbolt” Ross (Harrison Ford), uncovering traitors in his midst, and of course, plenty of literally high-flying action.
Most excitingly, it gives us our first look at the Red Hulk.

Who is Red Hulk? (Potential Spoilers)
The Red Hulk is exactly as the name suggests: a Hulk, but red. In the comics, he’s introduced as a powerful enemy who can overcome the Avenger’s heaviest hitters with all the strength of the Hulk but without the mindless rage.
The Red Hulk is eventually revealed to be General Ross, longtime nemesis of the Incredible Hulk, who became the thing he hated most. His daughter and Bruce Banner’s love interest, Betty Ross, is also revealed to be the Red She-Hulk.
Despite their initial clashes, the Red Hulk eventually became an ally of the Avengers before leading his own Thunderbolts team.
While Red Hulk’s brief appearance in the “Captain America: Brave New World” trailer suggests that Harrison Ford’s President Ross will be the one to hulk out eventually, there’s always the chance Marvel Studios will surprise us with a twist.
We’ll have to wait and see when “Captain America: Brave New World” drops February 14, 2025.
