To say that Marvel fans have been concerned about the fate of Daredevil’s upcoming Disney+ show would be an understatement. It seemed the series was cursed with rewrites and reshoots, leaving fans to wonder if it would even grace their screens, or if Matt Murdock and the Kingpin would be condemned to a life of nothing but cameos in other Disney+ shows.
Well, the wait is over, as Marvel Entertainment dropped the first trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again.”
The trailer brings us in to a new status quo for the “Daredevil” series. Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, is now Mayor Fisk (as happened in the comics, leading up to the fantastic “Devil’s Reign” storyline). Matt Murdock himself has given up being Daredevil, having crossed a line in the past.
Of course, those two aren’t the only returning characters, as we see Karen, Foggy, and even Frank Castle (the Punisher) making their returns. The trailer also gives us a glimpse at White Tiger and Muse, who will be making their big screen debuts, alongside classic Daredevil antagonist Bullseye.
Fans worried that Disney+ would make the show lighter and softer than the Netflix series can put their minds at ease, as the trailer features no shortage of broken bones and blood splatter. It seems like “Born Again” is sticking to the darker and more grounded style that made the first “Daredevil” series a hit.
“Daredevil: Born Again” airs on Disney+ starting March 4th.
